Jamtara College, Jamtara, offers three years General/Honours programmes in Arts and Science streams on the following subjects:
A candidate shall choose either (a) or (b) for composition for B.A. (General/Honours), B.Sc (General/Honours) for each of the Part I and Part II examinations.
A candidate shall have to offer General Studies instead of composition for Part III examination of B.A. (General & Honours) or B.Sc (General & Honours) courses.
B.Sc (General) Course: A student might be offered one of the following
combinations for
B.Sc (General) course in addition to compositions and general studies as given in
earlier section.
a) Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics
b) Chemistry, Botany and Zoology
B.Sc (Honours) Course: An eligible student might be offered Honours in one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology and Mathematics.
B.A. (General) Course: An eligible student may opt for any three subjects as given below in addition to Composition and General Studies as explained in earlier section – Economics, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Mathematics, English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Maithili, Santhali and Sanskrit.
Kindly note that no two literature subjects can be opted. A student may take Sanskrit, Hindi, Bangla, Urdu, Maithili or Santali in place of English in B.A. (General) course as one of the combination.
B.A. (Honours) Course: An eligible student might be offered Honours in one of the following subjects – English, Hindi, Bangla, Urdu, Maithili, Sanskrit, Santali, Economics, Political Science, Philosophy, History, Mathematics and Psychology.
